The Ease and Convenience of Homemade Baby Food (Really!)
Baby in a highchair, mom in front with a small spoon and a jar of baby food. It looks like something right out of a parenting magazine, and its a scene that is played out several times a day in the majority of homes with small babies. Unfortunately, its also a powerful marketing image that can cost a family a great deal of money in the long run.

Surprising New Info About Children, Allergies, and Pets
Have you wondered whether to get your child a pet or not? Does your family have a history of allergies and have you been told by your pediatrician it’s not a good idea? There’s interesting news from the Medical College of George (MCG), evidence from a new study about children and pets published in the Journal of the American Medical Association that having pets may actually help with allergies.

Sharing the Love
Lately, I have been looking back at my life with one sick child with nastalgia. Having two sick kids can make you do that.
The cold bug bit my son a couple of weeks before Christmas, and we are still battling it. As a parent, it breaks your heart to see your little one struck by a cold. Yet, with just one child, you seem to manage, let the cold run its course and come out of it about a week later, none the worse for wear. But add another germ playground (a.k.a. child) to the equation, and ripping all of your hair out is, to be certain, a much easier battle.

Legume Legends

Complete, As Nature Intended
My second son was born January 2, 1997 at 9:10 p.m. Early the next morning when he was less than a day old a pediatrician came into the room to give him a check-up. He took off his diaper and said "Your son will be circumcised this morning." I replied "No he won't!" The doctor stopped what he was doing, turned to look at me for the first time since entering the room, and after glaring at me so long that I was beginning to feel like a small child who had done wrong, he said, "Have you thought about this ?" "Yes I have," I replied, "I researched it well."
